Local Arrangements

 Pre/Post Symposium Accommodations
Accommodations are now available in Trinity on the nights of Saturday 8 and Wednesday 12 July. Please contact Hugh Hunt if you need extra accommodation.

 Travel
Coach/Bus From Airports - There is a coach service direct to/from Cambridge and the three London airports. The coaches leave every hour. Travel duration: Gatwick=3hrs, Heathrow=2hrs, Stansted=40min. (see http://www.cambridgecoaches.co.uk/ )
Trains - leave London Kings Cross Station at half-hourly intervals, travel time=1hr. (see http://www.cam.ac.uk/CambArea/trains/ )
Cars - If you are coming by car then please be warned: Cambridge is car-unfriendly! If you need advice on parking then please see http://www.cambridge.gov.uk/services/carparks.htm . The Park Street Car Park is the closest. It is the northern-most big 'P' on the map at http://www.cambridge.gov.uk/leisure/mapblack.htm and you can only access it from Jesus Lane. Arriving on Sunday will be less of a problem than on other days.

Accommodations Check-In
Those of you who are staying in Trinity should go to the Trinity College Porters' Lodge upon arrival and collect your room key. It is open 24 hours. Any taxi will take you there. Walkers may need a map which you will find at http://www.cambridge.gov.uk/leisure/mapblack.htm and another is at http://www.cwp1.demon.co.uk/CHmap.htm)

 Symposium Registration
Registration will take place 4-6pm on Sunday afternoon and from 8am on Monday morning.

 Tours
A guided walking tour of Cambridge and punting (boating on the River Cam) trips are being arranged for those who wish to stay on through Wednesday. It will help for planning to know roughly how many of you are interested in tours and/or punting - please contact Hugh Hunt.

 Meals
For special dietary requirements please contact Hugh Hunt.
For planning purposes it will help to know if you DO NOT plan to attend the Banquet (Monday 10 July) or the Pub Dinner (Tuesday 11July). Please contact Hugh Hunt if you do not intend to attend either of these functions and have not contacted him already.

 Dress
The dress code for the Symposium is 'relaxed'. Many of you are travelling a very long way - there's no need to dress up for the Banquet. July in Cambridge can be warm, but it's unlikely to exceed 25C (78F). It can also be chilly in the evenings.
