Why are we here?

We are two French students from the "Ecole Nationale d'Ingenieurs de Metz", which is a "grande ecole" in France. We are in our last year (fifth year) of studies and, before to be graduated, we have to do a final-year project in partnership with a French firm or, with a foreign university. We have chosen the second solution. We are working in the Kinematics, Dynamics and Robotics laboratory, which is a part of the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. The supervisor of the laboratory is Dr. Harvey Lipkin.
The Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering trains engineers and researchers, in relationship with many industrial firms.
The during of our project is 5 months, from March to July 1999.
Each year, the ENIM final-year project permits to one dozen French students to spend four month in a foreign university, in Europe or on the American continent, in order to design new products, increase production means, in relationship with local industries.
The students whose are staying in France are working in partnership with French firms and are supervised by one or several ENIM professors.
